My Secrets To My Successful Weight Loss Journey!

I have been through 3 different significant weight loss journeys in my career. Each one extremely different from the other! Keep reading cause you will resonate with one of them if not all :)

I’ve always been an active person—so much so that my grandmother used to affectionately call me a tomboy. Growing up, I was the kid who wanted to be part of every game the boys played, even pleading with my mom to let me join the school football team. She finally relented, but only when I reached college.

Yet, despite my love for sports and movement, my journey hasn’t been without its struggles. Constant comments from an unruly uncle when I was just a child planted the first seeds of insecurity. Being labeled “fat” throughout most of my college years only deepened the wounds. These experiences shaped not just my relationship with my body but also my confidence in every aspect of life.

If you’ve ever battled with self-doubt, struggled to feel at home in your own skin, or let someone else’s words define your worth, you’ll understand what I mean. This is the story of how I found strength—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and reclaimed my confidence one step at a time.

The 1st one:

Becoming a licensed Zumba Fitness Instructor felt like a dream come true—I was on top of the world, doing what I loved, and shedding weight in the process! It felt like the perfect combination: working a job I adored while getting fitter.But as a newbie in the fitness world, I didn’t fully understand what my body needed. My routine was all cardio—lots of it—and eating as little as possible. I was constantly exhausted, running from class to class, unknowingly setting myself up for burnout. Before long, the weight started creeping back, and I couldn’t figure out why.                                                                                                              Was this weight loss journey I had longed for throughout college a success? I think you already know the answer.

2nd one was a charm!

After turning 30, I noticed my weight creeping up more than usual, despite a well-rounded workout routine of cardio, weight training, and Pilates. By this point, I understood the importance of eating to fuel myself as a fitness coach, yet nothing seemed to work.

Throughout 2022, I constantly felt bloated, uneasy, and watched my insecurities resurface. How could I guide others on their fitness journeys when I couldn’t figure out my own? I started questioning my abilities as a coach and even turned to blood tests, hoping to blame my struggles on thyroid issues, PCOS, or something external. But the results were clear—it wasn’t my body; it was my habits.

That realization hit hard but taught me two invaluable lessons: 1) Taking responsibility for your actions and habits is non-negotiable, and 2) Consistency is the ultimate key to reaching your goals.

Was this the turning point I desperately needed in my journey? Well, let’s just say the answers were finally starting to reveal themselves.

3rd One felt like -I Got This!

I ended 2023 and stepped into 2024 on an incredible high! I had finally figured out how to reach my goals, with the best motivation to keep me on track—my wedding. It was truly one of the happiest moments of my life!       

But 2024 turned out to be a whirlwind—a roller coaster ride, and honestly, one of the best I’ve ever been on. From getting married in January to celebrating my brother’s wedding, preparing for my sister’s big day, shuffling between three cities, and traveling to two countries, this year has been packed with unforgettable experiences.

Naturally, my fitness journey took a backseat. I gained weight—reaching my heaviest ever—but here’s the difference: I never let insecurity creep in or felt overwhelmed by it. That, to me, has been my biggest win.

As I slowly get back on track and refocus on my goals, the two lessons I’ve learned remain at the core of my journey: 1) Taking responsibility for your actions and habits is non-negotiable, and 2) Consistency is the ultimate key to success.
